Chapter Four

This chapter was like a hub for me, an etoile circle, where everything came together. The past colliding with the uncertainty of a future. Babies and building a family juxtaposed with anger and fear, the ugly truth coming out. But what I loved best was Heechul’s unquestionable (at first, anyway) submission to Hankyung’s demands. I don’t think it makes him weak, I’m not trying to establish any set roles. But up until then he had no reason not to trust him. I also really like how Hankyung will always sacrifice gallantry for Heechul’s safety. Yeah, he’ll totally resort to being a cold, snappish son of a bitch in order to get Heechul out of danger. Seeing a new side of someone you love and think you know as well as yourself has to be disturbing. But I think that ultimately, Hankyung has nothing to gain from confessing; Heechul could betray him in turn. So they’re kind of in this gridlock of mutual trust and “what next.” I seriously loved everything about this chapter.
